Highlights
Everyone has the potential to be an A-player.
How do I know?
Because every one of these qualities is within your control:
Independent Thinker
Embrace "First Principles" thinking. Keep asking "Why?" until you reach the core. Curious & Humble
Explore new ideas and make novel connections. Recognise the vastness of what you have yet to learn. High Standards
Set your bar higher than 99% of people. Commit to getting 1% better each day. Energy Raiser
Be a fountain, not a drain. Genuinely cheer for everyone’s success. Proactive
Act boldly—ask for forgiveness, not permission. Focus on bringing solutions, not just problems. You might think, "But that’s not who I am."
My response:
"That’s not who you are... yet."
You’ve always had the power to rewrite your story.
Why not make today the day you take the pen and start a new chapter?

I’ve always been drawn to commencement, convocation, and graduation speeches.
There’s something incredibly inspiring about hearing these speeches at a time when you're standing on the threshold of a new chapter—transitioning from school or university into the world of work. It’s a poignant moment, stepping into full-fledged adulthood with all its responsibilities and challenges.
But graduation speeches aren’t just for those donning caps and gowns. I’ve found comfort and inspiration in these speeches at various stages of my life. Their universal themes of dreams, aspirations, and hope resonate with us all, no matter where we are on our journey.
Here are some of my favourites:
➡ Steve Jobs at Stanford University (2005): "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life."
Key Message: Trust your intuition, even if it means going against the grain. https://lnkd.in/dpqtz_DC
➡ Oprah Winfrey at Harvard University (2013): "The big aha! is that there is no such thing as failure. Failure is life trying to move us in another direction."
Key Message: Embrace failures and setbacks as opportunities for growth and learning. https://lnkd.in/dqssGd5X
➡ Chadwick Boseman at Howard University (2018): "Purpose is an essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history."
Key Message: Discovering your purpose brings meaning to life. https://lnkd.in/ddd59sgE
➡ Viola Davis at Barnard College (2019): "Living life for something bigger than yourself is a hero's journey."
Key Message: Confront your greatest fears and dedicate yourself to a higher cause. https://lnkd.in/dUBXttQc
These speeches are packed with iconic lines—words that ignite young imaginations, foster courage, and inspire resilience.
Oratory is a powerful tool. Whether it’s a commencement speech or an employee Town Hall, words carry immense weight.
One speech that has captivated my imagination for decades is the legendary UN address by Krishna Menon. His eight-hour marathon speech, far from a typical 15-minute TED Talk, put him and India on the global stage. This dramatic effort brought international attention to a young, independent India. https://lnkd.in/dQcanBD9
