Greater Good Studio Co-Founder and Executive Director: human-centered design for social impact

Sara Cantor is a creative leader and human-centered designer with a focus on equity, belonging, and social innovation.

With seven years of experience in human-centered design (HCD) for corporate clients, Sara co-founded Greater Good Studio in 2011 to tackle more meaningful challenges in the social sector.

Her team, known as 'pissed-off optimists,' collaborates with nonprofits, foundations, government agencies, and social enterprises to drive innovation, develop new programs, and amplify their impact.

Sara's ultimate goal is to address systemic inequities in the country, reflected in her broad portfolio encompassing areas such as education, workforce development, housing, mental health, community development, public safety, and the arts.

She brings a unique blend of skills in design research, community engagement, and co-creation to empower clients and communities in finding solutions to their challenges.

Sara holds a Master's in Design Planning from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University.

Her professional journey includes roles as Co-Founder and Executive Director at Greater Good Studio, Instructor at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, Research Director at IA Collaborative, and Retail Planner at RTC.
