Now for all our estate planning attorneys out there I know this is overly simplified, but begins to position how impactful you are and can be to many business owners and their families.

Was reflecting this morning on this year as I prepare for our annual Exit Planning Institute leadership retreat next week in Key West, Florida. This retreat will mark about 90 days of pretty deep business, personal, and financial planning for me, my team, and Chris. I thought about how impactful our estate planning attorney, Lindsey Smith, has been for our family and specifically my father Christopher Snider, CEPA over the last year or more as we begin to plan for the future.

This has to be one of the most difficult things a business owner does. I can tell ya if you talked to Chris, he would tell you that in order to do things right you have to spend the time, and a lot of time. You also need to make some awkward or perhaps difficult decisions along the way. This is likely why many owners don't plan. They kick the can down the road because they say, I don't have time for this. Nearly 70% of owners do not have an estate planning attorney on their team.

In the advisory community we all know how critical this is. The question I have to our advisory community though, is how do we flip that equation and have 70%++ of owners planning appropriately and incorporating this into their daily jives and annual plans? How do they make the time?
