Shona’s career trajectory also includes a notable stint as the Director of National and Executive Communications at Entergy Corporation, where she steered C-suite external communications, financial communication strategies, and top-tier media relationships, in addition to executive speaking engagements and speechwriting.
Her global perspective and expertise were further honed during her leadership role in the corporate practice at Edelman Brazil, where she managed communication strategies from São Paulo before returning to work in New York. At Edelman, she supervised a global corporate communications strategy for Xylem, a key player in the water solutions sector, as well as managing global issues for a prominent Canadian forest products company.
Before her tenure at Edelman and Arconic, Shona served as a Director at Burson-Marsteller, where she led initiatives for Intel's notable global education program.
Shona's career commenced in public service, where she worked in the Clinton Administration as a speechwriter for the USAID Administrator, J. Brady Anderson, crafting messages and Congressional testimony to advocate for U.S. foreign development assistance. She laid the foundation of her professional journey on Capitol Hill, contributing to the offices of U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer and U.S. Representative Jerry Kleczka.
