Highlights
This week was different from all other weeks.
This week I dropped everything to start up a new operation.
Because when your friends and family's safety is at risk, there’s not much else you can think about.
Gili Fleekop, Oran Goldberg, and I hopped on a Zoom call on Monday morning. Fast forward 48 hours, we had a running operation. With our growing team, we’ve:
- Raised over $70,000 (and counting)
- Received direct requests for supplies from soldiers (as items are sold out in Israel)
- Mobilized a group of NYCers and Philadelphians ready to purchase supplies, led by Samantha Resnik, Julia Resnik, and Madeline Schonberger
- Set up a logistics center in our apartment to store items
- Found travelers flying to TLV willing to transport goods
- Organized drivers to deliver supplies to travelers
- Assembled a team in Israel to collect, organize, and distribute the supplies directly to the army units
This has brought smiles to soldiers' faces and hope to their hearts during such a painful time.
It’s been a long week with short days, and we’ve learned a ton already:
Our scrappiness has been an asset, enabling us to be reactive and resourceful as conditions change.
We sprung into action quickly with an MVP, learning much more from our actions than any blueprint could provide.
We shared our process publicly along the way, leading to increased donations and more passionate individuals joining our team.
Above all, we’ve unleashed the power of community, with over 700 people involved from start to finish. I am so grateful to every single person for coming together as strangers to help our greater family in Israel, and fulfill the needs of the brave heroes protecting our nation. Onwards and upwards!
