Silvia has held key roles such as Consultant at the Norwegian Refugee Council, Consultant at the World Food Programme, Programme Officer at Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) initiative, and Disaster Risk Reduction Consultant at the World Food Programme.

She has also been involved in impactful projects at organizations like the International Labour Organization, UNEP Partnership for Action on Green Economy, UNEP Coordinator at Green Growth Knowledge Platform, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL).

Silvia's contributions extend to disaster risk reduction implementation planning with the Global Framework for Climate Services, as well as roles at the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
