Simen Omholt-Jensen is a data scientist who has worked as a summer intern at Maritime Optima. He holds a B.S.E in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial Economics and Technology Management at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).1
During his time at Maritime Optima as a junior data scientist, Simen worked on berth detection using clustering of vessel trajectories and vessel destination prediction using machine learning. As part of his Master's Thesis, he is working on a multi-vehicle pickup and delivery problem with time windows to optimize cargo routing decisions for a fleet of vessels, in collaboration with Maritime Optima and Western Bulk.1
Simen has previously interned at Pareto Securities, Innovation Norway, and Wilhelmsen, where he implemented a sensor data pipeline for vessels in Wallenius Wilhelmsen's fleet.1
