Hi LinkedIn community - I need your help! My brother, Gershon Gilman, is looking for his next opportunity - could it be with you? He is wrapping up a manufacturing engineering development program with GE Aerospace and seeking opportunities in a new city. While with GE he has taken his passion for #3Dprinting and turned it into (a very effective) career. He has developed fixtures to significantly improve #operatingefficiency, updated SOPs to ensure plant efficiency, and implemented data transfer automation protocols. His past experience also includes #engineering with energy providers (NextEra and National Grid) as well as several years of experience in robotics.    Gershon is looking for opportunities to bring his #mechanicalengineering expertise and #additive experience to an employer near you (or preferably me). If you, or anyone in your network is #hiring - I would sincerely appreciate an introduction!

#MBA #recruiting season is well underway which means that I, along with MBA alumni everywhere, have my LinkedIn inbox flooded with cold outreach. That's great but my ask to current #MBA candidates is to make your outreach more specific. A few quick learnings from what I have seen in heard in virtual/live outreach in just the last two weeks:

  1. When introducing yourself, please provide more than your name and country of origin. Tell me your name, prior career experience, and what you're hoping to pursue further. Make it easier for whomever you're speaking with to figure out how to help you!
  2. Ask fewer googleable questions. "What does your company do?" is a question easily answered by reading the company website. "How have you found the learning curve at the company given your prior experience?" is a non-googleable question that makes sense to ask especially if someone has a similar career background.
  3. Be polite! Self-explanatory but please do not talk over the industry rep/alum. If you realize quickly that the conversation isn't a good fit, find a way to politely excuse yourself. If you scheduled a coffee chat or phone call with an alum, please show up or communicate that you need to reschedule ahead of time wherever possible.    These and other tips on MBA internship search available in my #guide (~30 pages of goodness) on
