Skip Hobbie is an Emmy Award-winning wildlife cinematographer based in Austin, Texas.1 He is also the owner of Skip Hobbie Productions, LLC.2 Hobbie grew up in Texas with a passion for wildlife, which he turned into a career filming for National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery, and PBS.1 In 2012, as part of the camera team for National Geographic’s series Untamed Americas, Hobbie earned an Emmy Award.1

Hobbie developed a love for the Big Bend area of Texas and created a film about its wildlife.1 He brought a documentary production company from Ireland to work on the film, who were initially shocked by the vast distances in West Texas.1 According to Hobbie, the most beautiful experience he had while filming was capturing beavers in Santa Elena Canyon at sunrise.1
