This post is a long time coming but I'm SO excited to make it. Last year, Philip Pickard, Jan Pickard, and I started building something pretty freakin' cool. With the hard work of the amazing David North, Freddie du Plessis, Nick Smuts, Riley Kovatch, Daniel Stone/SILSYNC, and many others, we're ready to publicly bring Speedy (www.getspeedy.io) to the world. Most reading this can relate to the hyperbolic shifts Covid brought to our lives in 2020 -- health, work, family, travel. Some things have gone back to normal: travel has been surging, mask mandates are mostly done, and summer has brought a semblance of normal to most of the world, even if that normal is learning to live with a pandemic for the foreseeable future. For many of us, however, the effects on work and location seem to be the most lasting -- remote work appears here to stay, and likely forever. This is where Speedy comes in. We've built the world's first, most comprehensive platform for verifying Wi-Fi connections at destinations. Speedy shows Wi-Fi speed and reliability wherever you stay, also informing property managers of issues and outages as they happen. Looking to work remote from an Airbnb for a week? Gone are the days of anxiety wondering if you'll be able to join that video call or access work docs on the cloud. The pitch is simple but the need acute -- which is probably how we've already managed to sell through all of our pilot devices to property management companies spanning three continents and representing thousands of homes (!).
