Programme Analyst (Climate Change & Disaster Risk Reduction) at UNDP

Sothini Nyirenda is an experienced development practitioner with a solid background in international affairs and public service, specializing in climate change, disaster risk, and environmental management.

With expertise in Sustainable Development, Policy Analysis, Climate Finance, and Resilience, Sothini is currently leveraging their Master of Science in Sustainability (Climate Change) from the University of Leeds to lead the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction division at UNDP.

Certified as a Cluster Coordinator for Early Recovery by the United Nations Crisis Bureau, Sothini also serves as a Coordinator and Expert Trainer for Post-Disaster Needs Assessment.

Sothini Nyirenda's educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Malawi and a Master of Science in Sustainability (Climate Change) from the University of Leeds.

Previously, Sothini has held roles such as Programme Analyst in Climate Change & Disaster Risk Reduction and Programme Analyst in Climate Change at UNDP, as well as positions in environmental governance and training consultancy.
