I’m happy to share that I’ve completed my Master of Business Administration - MBA at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management!
It has officially been 4 months since graduation, so I figured it was time to update LinkedIn. I think it took me this long because I was in a little bit of denial - how could this thing that was a seed of a dream in 2015 when I bought my first GMAT study books now be a past experience? How can it be that those 2.75 years of business school have already come and gone? I remember being excited and happy, but also a bit sad at graduation - a chapter of life that brought me so much goodness and growth was over.
But of course it's not really over. I now get to take all of the invaluable experiences and learnings forward into the rest of my life. I get to build on what I've learned from my incredible Kellogg professors, peers, and too many case studies to count ;) to continue growing personally and professionally into the human and leader I want to be. The journey continues and I am so excited for it all!
It was challenging to (try to) balance my MBA journey with my full-time career, relationships, travel, fun, health and just life in general. I realize now that it was a great crash course in learning life balance and flexibility, adjusting - and re-adjusting - and embracing progress over perfection (there are only 24 hours in a day after all). For all the challenging classes and late nights/ early mornings, though, there were 10X moments of joy and growth. I was only able to do it because of the support from my friends, family and colleagues. I have so much gratitude for this entire experience, and especially for my support system through it.
Thank you especially my amazing core team at PepsiCo who were beyond supportive and cheered me on along the way: Mike Glaser Emily Frankel Mic Zavarella Annie H. Katie Chew Alec Evans Sonali Rupani Lindsay Bukowski Olivia Cheshire (and so many more colleagues and partners!)
You know how sometimes there are experiences that really stick with you? This is one of them for me.
In March, I participated in Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management GIM: Global Initiatives in Management. Our group of 30 students (now friends!) and amazing Kellogg faculty travelled to London, Bordeaux and Paris, where we learned firsthand about global markets, geopolitical factors and macroeconomic trends, with a particular focus on leadership through organizational change. We were fortunate to meet with and learn from inspiring leaders from various sectors, including government, banking, luxury goods, food & beverage, retail and more. It is difficult to summarize all of the takeaways from our two weeks succinctly because there was simply SO MUCH goodness and learning, but I've given it a shot in the slide below with the four key themes that emerged over the course of our trip. What stood out most to me (and what gave me great hope for the world in general) was the fact that every leader we met with emphasized the importance of human-centric leadership and empathy. The most impactful thing we can do - especially in times of change (so, always) - is support each other, do our best to understand each other, and build from there.
Special thank you to the leaders who shared their invaluable insights and lessons learned: Gillian Keegan Lance Forman Lisa Stevenson Mathilde Delhoume-Debreu Yves Hanania Barbara Martin Coppola Ghita Benkirane Souflet Neal Craddock Troy Christensen Aline Baly Sezgin Kaya Mathilde Delhoume-Debreu Michael Keegan
And professor Richard Jolly Robyne Hart for enabling this experience for us!
