Highlights
"Make it easy to sell, and easy to buy"
Really simple advice, but so important to remember.
Simple and clear messaging on your sales pitch, compelling examples of what the product does and WHY it will benefit the customer, relevant examples of the results of using your product (case studies). Make it easy to sell.
Then once they are warm, make the transaction as frictionless as possible. Reduce the sales steps, provide straigh-forward billing (online checkout, not sending an invoice etc). Make it easy to buy.
I'm thinking about this message often when chatting to our portfolio. get the customer understanding the value that is relevant to them, then let them act on it to buy with a tight a process as possible.
Building things is hard. As VCs, we see it every day with the companies and founders we support.
That's why reaching the $100,000,000 investment milestone through TEN13, backing 50 companies across 6 continents, is really humbling.
We've built a unique co-investment model that brings together the magic of our growing network of investors, founders, and community.
Our original investor base of ~30 initial backers from our first deals in 2019 (you know who you are!) has grown to well north of 500+ founders, operators, and corporate executives passionate about the companies of the future.
While $100M invested is significant, we recognise that investing is the easy part. Our real role is to turn that capital into multiples of invested capital by empowering the best founders of this generation and building enduring companies.
Special thanks to the TEN13 team – we've been building our own 'startup' which has been the usual rollercoaster ride of wins and fires to fight. Your dedication, ownership of your roles, and commitment to prioritising our customers (both founders and investors) move us forward every day 🙏
Onwards we go 🛫
