Dr. SzeKee Koh, a seasoned academic leader, has a diverse background in academia and industry.
With a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Accounting and Finance from The University of Western Australia, Dr. Koh commenced his academic journey at UWA, where he attained a tenure appointment with the business school.
In 2014, Dr. Koh relocated to Singapore and assumed a pioneering role in establishing the accountancy program at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Initially serving as the deputy program director before progressing to the role of program director, he played a pivotal role in obtaining accreditations from various local and international accounting professional bodies for the program.
His leadership at SIT extended beyond the accountancy program as he concurrently held the position of deputy cluster director for the Design and Specialised Businesses Cluster, overseeing applied research strategies.
Transitioning to a new role in 2021, Dr. Koh now serves as the Director of Programmes at SIT, entrusted with the strategic positioning of all programs within the DSB Cluster.
Dr. Koh's dedication to advancing accounting education is exemplified through his role as the vice-president of the Asean Accounting Educators Workgroup (AAEW), focusing on enhancing accounting education quality in the ASEAN region.
His research interests span a range of topics including capital structure, corporate bankruptcy, corporate social responsibility, social responsible investments, capital asset pricing, and corporate life cycle. Dr. Koh has a notable publication record in esteemed journals and has conducted applied research with industry partners like RSM Singapore and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
Prior to his academic endeavors, Dr. Koh gained industry experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Tax Consultant and later transitioned to the aviation industry as a Finance Manager.
A respected professional, Dr. Koh is a fellow member of CPA Australia and the Financial Services Institute Australasia (FINSIA).
