Tarik Mohallem is a pioneering figure in the field of nanotechnology, having founded Nanum, one of Brazil's first nano spin-off companies back in 2003 while still an undergraduate physics student at UFMG.

Prior to his venture into nanotechnology, Tarik graduated as an electro-electronic and automation technician from CEFET-MG, showcasing his diverse educational background and technical skills.

During the early years of Nanum, Tarik served as a consultant for various companies, contributing his expertise in areas such as specialized glass fabrication, vacuum acrylic recycling processes, sol-gel thin films for glass applications, freeze-drying processes, and more.

Tarik's leadership was instrumental in the growth of Nanum, as he successfully attracted investors and expanded the company's reach.

Throughout his tenure at Nanum, Tarik held key positions including Managing Director, R&D Director, Commercial Director, and currently serves as the Technical Director, demonstrating his versatile skill set that spans across administration, research and development, production, and commercial aspects.

His involvement in projects such as MICR dispersion development, supercapacitors, nano varistors, and anticorrosive additive inks highlights his expertise in nanotechnology and materials science.

In addition to his physics background, Tarik furthered his education by studying Computer Engineering at PUC Minas, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and exploration of diverse subjects like computer science, electronics, and automation.

Tarik Mohallem's professional journey includes roles at organizations such as Nanum Nanotecnologia SA, Clamper Indústria e Comércio S/A, Sigma Instrumentos Ltda., and Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, where he has contributed significantly to the advancement of nanotechnology and related fields.
