Not sure how often you wonder why you do what you do, but for me, today was one of those days where I’ve been reminded of the privilege I/ we have to take people on a journey to a new way of leading….
Today was recall day for one of our clients, where we called the leaders in who have participated in a recent leadership program.
Importantly, this program was different - not cookie cutter, no assuming everyone needs the same development, but instead, aligned to individual need and providing opportunity to essentially “choose your own adventure”. Unique for a Government department you may think, but so exciting to have been part of and now rolling out further.
More important were the “aha” moments shared today, bringing to a close a program that has and will continue to make a difference. Here’s some of what participants had to say:

I was so fortunate to attend a dinner at OzHarvest last night (more on that later), and noticed this wall in the restaurant….
I couldn’t help but think how it represents the leadership journey of many, possibly most. The building stands firm but as you look underneath and more deeply at the “building blocks”, it’s not all roses and the perfect journey. But in my experience it’s actually those imperfections that help us grow the most.
More than that, it’s the story and narrative we are telling OURSELVES that often defines us. Sometimes we need to remember that our success can only take us as far as our character can sustain us, and that our character is built upon the times that are toughest.
