Highlights
My MC responsibilities kept me busy at the KPMG US Tech and Innovation Symposium this week, but I took a moment as the conference wrapped to share some of my initial thoughts on the value of gathering in this type of setting to view multifaceted, complex topics from new vantage points. Together, we sharpened our focus on #AI (of course), and peered toward new frontiers – like #quantum, #spatialcomputing, the #spaceeconomy, and more.
Thank you to all our clients, visionary speakers, alliance partners, tech hub and university partners, and KPMG partners and professionals who invested their time to attend and contribute to these vital conversations.
I’ll continue to collect my thoughts on all the new perspectives I gained, as I recover from the high altitude, and look forward to sharing more insights from the event with you next week.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the premiere of KPMG US’s new documentary, “Driven by Data: Stacy Lewis’ 2023 Solheim Cup Captaincy,” at #KPMGLakehouse. The film tells the story of how U.S. Solheim Cup Captain and 13-time Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour champion Stacy Lewis leveraged game-changing data insights and advanced performance analytics from the KPMG Performance Insights platform to make more strategic decisions, resulting in three historic firsts during the tournament.
In studying the performance of Ryder Cup captains, Stacy saw just how critical #data and #analytics had become in helping the men’s teams finalize captain’s picks, determine initial pairings, and define a course strategy pretournament, while being prepared to make real-time adjustments. KPMG worked with Stacy to address this disparity between the men’s access to powerful tournament analytics and the women’s continued reliance on basic player rankings and subjective measures. KPMG helped level the playing field.
With key learnings from last year’s event, the team is in an even better position to glean performance-driving insights for 2024, when the Solheim Cup takes place in the U.S., with Stacy leading the way as captain again!
After the premiere and Q&A with Stacy, Mark Gibson and I discussed how KPMG can continue to leverage data and analytics to deliver successful outcomes for our clients, and the new, AI-powered enhancements coming to the Performance Insights platform in 2024.
The documentary aired on the Golf Channel earlier this week, and is now available to stream via Peacock or Youtube: https://lnkd.in/g_ExCBbx
