A common question I get: "How do I start creating content?" Here is an idea that could take you <5 mins to write a post.

Most sellers know intuitively that social selling can work - hell, most of the biggest deals in my career that some element of social selling involved from prospecting to multithreading.

The problem?

People overthink and don't know where to start.

"Nobody cares about what I have to say"

Feeling stuck? Try something like this.

Put a company blog post into an AI tool like Tuesday.

In 5 seconds, they'll write you a summary post you can post on LinkedIn and Twitter.

Do this 1x/week for a few months until you gain confience to write your own material.

I've posted tens of thousands of pieces of content online since I started in 2016 and the results keep compounding.

Start slow.

Big a cadence you can stick to.

Use tools to help lower the resistance to trying something new.

What other advice would y'all have for a 1st time creator?

I spent 8 hours yesterday with a top notch SDR team. Here’s what we focused on:

  1. Sales = Skills

We will never outearn our skill set.

The key difference between a seller earning 5 figures and 7 figures is in the skills they possess and how frequently they put them to use.

The great news is that sales skills aren’t terribly complicated. They mostly come through repetition.

Sets and reps. Sets and reps. Sets and reps.

  1. Sales = Math

There are only 2 ways to get better results.

Do MORE. Do BETTER.

A simple equation:

I make 1,000 cold calls 50 connected (5%) 5 meetings booked (10%) 4 meetings showed (80%) 2 pipeline opportunities (50%)

Now if I wanted to book 4 opps instead of 2, I have 2 options.

Do more:

I make 2,000 cold calls 100 connected (5%) 10 meetings booked (10%) 8 meetings showed (80%) 4 pipeline opportunities (50%)

Or Do Better:

I make 1,000 cold calls 50 connected (5%) 10 meetings booked (20%) 8 meetings showed (80%) 4 pipeline opportunities (50%)

Run your sales math.

  1. Sales = Problem Solving

The best calls, emails, LI messages all center around the PROBLEM our prospect might have, not our solution.

Bad: “This is Tom from TA Sales. We help sales teams build more pipeline through system-based trainings led by top practitioners” 🥱

Good: “Saw in your recent post that you were hiring 8 BDRs. In the job posting, it mentioned that the new reps needed to be self starters and get to full quota in the first 2 months. Most teams I speak with struggle to get reps to value in that time - how does that relate to your experience”? 🤑

It’s not rocket science.

But it does take hard work.

Feeling grateful to have spent the time with Liz Sophia Drew Wilkins Manhattan Associates yesterday and excited about the journey ahead.
