so don't listen to me but my life got infinitely better when I figured out two things: 1. what I want & 2. being in an environment where what I want is normal/supported/expected.

This comes down to: find your people & love your work - which is the tagline for the startup that I'm building joineden.ai | love your work 🙃 Coincidence - I think not 👀

For example, when I mentioned my ambition of learning how to impact a billion+ people's lives through tech & foundership in Belgium, lots of people would either think I'm crazy or on crack or both. Here in the US, especially in the startup scene—and very specifically where I spend all of my waking hours, Brickyard —that is the expectation and the norm. You build for massive impact.

That's what "find your people" is all about - shared norms & values. But in order to "find your people," you need to know what your norms & values are - and one of the biggest realizations I had there, after traveling for 2 years out of high school, is that for those types of things, you don't find yourself; you make yourself. Some of these things are just plain decisions - not discoveries.

If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to know what you want & what you would regard as "your people"? Do you think what I'm saying is BS - why? Talk to me so I'm not just talking to myself 🙃

If you want more of these "notes-to-self", I record myself, talking to myself for 10 minutes every night after each day of building our startup joineden.ai | love your work & share what I think could be useful to somebody else in this newsletter that you can signup for here: https://lnkd.in/eJjwacBe

Ok so, for the last couple of weeks, at the end of each day, I started recording 3 pieces of advice that I would give myself from a year ago as a first-time venture-backed founder.

In essence, these are "notes to self" & lessons/pieces of advice/reflections that I'm learning on my journey building joineden.ai | love your work.

With the notion that maybe some of these lessons might be useful to others, I thought I might start sharing those lessons on here.

I don't want to spam LinkedIn, so if you want to see all the lessons I've learned for that week, I'll send them in a newsletter every week that you can sign up for here: https://lnkd.in/emKGf455 + I'll prob end up sharing some bigger reflection pieces on there as well.

I'm learning so much every dang day - building a company is like self-dev on steroids so let me share that stuff!!
