With a contested election lined up for the United States this year and $1+ billion events for SRCC every year since 2019 (except 2022), the timing on this new index couldn't have been better. Reinsurers have needed to figure out how to transfer SRCC risk quickly and cost-effectively for a while. And an ILW market for SRCC has always been the answer. Some markets are interested in writing this risk, so give me a shout if you want to lay off some risk. There are already some sensible attachment points.
Most of all, congrats to the PCS team! This product is timely, relevant, and important. It should help a lot with effective risk and capital management for PV.
