Wenbin Fei

Research Fellow at University of Melbourne

Dr. Wenbin Fei is a specialist in Thermal-Hydraulic-Mechanical-Chemical (THMC) processes in geomaterials, focusing on geothermal engineering, energy geo-storage, and energy waste management.

His research involves utilizing Computed Tomography (CT) techniques, advanced image processing algorithms, and various other methods to study the microstructure of geomaterials and predict thermal conductivity and permeability.

Dr. Fei has developed the AEEA-Coupler software for simulating THMC problems in real-size projects.

His educational background includes a PhD in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering from the University of Melbourne, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Bachelor's degree in Geological/Geophysical Engineering from Chang'an University.

He has worked in various roles at the University of Melbourne, including as a Research Fellow, Senior Tutor, Tutor, PhD candidate, and Deputy Lab Manager. Additionally, he has experience as a Testing Engineer at Bamford Rock Testing Services (BRTS) and as a Geotechnical Engineer at China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Co., Ltd.
