William Pope

Controls Lead at A&A CubeSat Team / UW Aeronautics & Astronautics ‘21

William Pope is a 4th year undergraduate student majoring in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle. He is currently leading the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) subsystem for the university's CubeSat nano-satellite program, aiming for a NASA selected launch in 2022. William's main interest lies in developing control systems for spacecraft and autonomous flight vehicles. His skills include embedded systems software, hardware test design, project management, small team leadership, creative problem solving, and critical thinking. Beyond academics, William enjoys photography and hiking.

William Pope has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Washington. He actively contributes to various organizations, including serving as an Engineering Student at the university, and holding roles such as the Former GNC Subsystem Lead at the Aeronautics and Astronautics CubeSat Team, Former Program Management Intern II at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Former Finance Officer at Air Force ROTC, Former Recruiting Officer at Air Force ROTC, and Former GNC Hardware Engineer at the Aeronautics and Astronautics CubeSat Team.
