Highlights
Greetings, Friends –
My wife and I are now hosting scientific expeditions in Alaska on our research vessel, the Endeavour. We host geologists, archeologists, paleontologists, biologists, glaciologists, historians, and others all up and down the coast of Alaska and its islands, and then we help share our scientists’ work from our website and by other means (like through LinkedIn, actually). Last season we measured glaciers in Kenai and found fossils on the Lost Coast. This season we’ll attach cameras to humpbacks, search for a shipwreck, study belugas, film walruses, scan the ocean floor, track bears, and more.
We’re doing this because we believe the more we all know about our natural world the more we appreciate it, and the more we appreciate it the more we all will want to protect it. Science – especially when it’s presented as a good story − leads to conservation. We can’t think of anything more important to all of us than a thoughtful and informed stewardship of the Earth.
I invite you to follow us here on LinkedIn, but also to go to our website at www.AlaskaEndeavour.org and subscribe to my ship’s log.
Best to you all. - Bill
