Canada must celebrate and treasure our greatest entrepreneurs — those who take the risks to “invent the future” that Canada needs and seek to create the global impact and economic footprint that assures our prosperity as a nation.

In that context, I need to send a huge shout-out this week, to my friend, ✨Claudette M.✨ on Protexxa‘s Series A financing !!

Claudette is that rare, once-in-a-decade entrepreneur. An extraordinary crossover talent, who’s journey from a top corporate executive to a visionary startup founder and CEO is nothing short of inspiring. She is a generational talent and one of the most impressive founders and entrepreneurs that I’ve met in my travels.

Her intelligence, resilience, heart, charisma, and unwavering positivity have propelled her to succeed in what is arguably the toughest fundraising environment in over a decade. Despite the challenges, Protexxa secured investments from a major family office, Bell Ventures, Sandpiper Ventures, BKR Capital and Export Development Canada | Exportation et développement Canada, bringing the total funds raised to $15 million CAD.

And in all of her individual success as a founder and as a leader, she has always taken the time to #PayItForward, by creating pathways to bring the community along with her, and providing a hand-up to those whom aspire to follow her lead. I see this every week in her work as Chair of the Coalition of Innovation Leaders Against Racism (CILAR), an organization that I and my co-founder Armughan Ahmad created in 2020.

Claudette is one of Canada’s best, and her achievements are a beacon for all aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders. Please join me in congratulating and celebrating Claudette McGowan—an extraordinary leader, a resilient founder, and a true generational talent! 🌟
