Highlights
Today’s a weird day for me. After ten years — going from intern, to full-time, to instructor, to senior engineer — I’m moving on from Big Nerd Ranch. I’m taking a few weeks off to coordinate a big move and prepare for my next adventure!
In 2013, I figured I had nothing better to do on a Thursday night as a student than eat some free pizza and attend a talk by one Aaron Hillegass. In retrospect, I think he asked for my resume purely so that I’d stop talking his ear off and let him go home.
I’ve done cool development work for companies big and small, trotted the globe to teach mobile development, and most importantly met amazing people whom I will cherish for a lifetime. I owe everyone I met and worked with my profound gratitude. Their guidance and empathy turned some random kid with savant-like knowledge of compiler warnings into a real professional who gets to work on all the things he loves to do.
