Building on the foundations of Tostan’s founder, Elena and her team have built an inspiring and highly effective organisation dedicated to empowering communities in some of the poorest regions in Africa and positioning Tostan as a global model and thought leader for community-led well-being. We are interested in engaging with astute and visionary global leaders capable of furthering the mission of the organisation whilst maintaining the values that guide it, who have the following requirements: Extensive leadership experience. An appreciation for the non-profit sector, internationally, will be advantageous. Exposure and past experience in operating in local, national and global contexts. Past experience in bridging the gap and piecing together the strategic and programmatic vision at a macro level, and guiding the implementation thereof. Strong understanding of community-led development, human rights approaches and/or social justice in the context of Africa, specifically in West Africa. Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and be the face of Tostan in the international community. Fluency in English and French (required); proficiency in other local languages (preferred).
