Highlights
INVERS just concluded its two week exploratory trip to Taiwan, Japan and South Korea to understand and learn about the car sharing markets in these geographies. We had an absolute blast interacting with car sharing operators from these markets, exchanging thoughts and ideas on how we could collaborate.
At one event, I had the opportunity to participate in a panel with Yumi Kawabata, Koichiro Takahara and Kazuna Yamamoto in Japan to discuss the similarities and differences between car sharing markets in Europe and Asia.
One interesting insight - While (in most parts of the world) a good public transportation system is necessary for car sharing to flourish (so as to not own a car), in Tokyo the public transportation system is so so good, that it can be a detriment to the growth of car sharing.
Another interesting conversation was around the need for fast paced regulation to adapt with the new needs of mobility.
Thanks to The Drivery Japan, CROSSBIE GmbH, Chika Yamamoto, Andy Kondo and team for helping to organise the event.
