When I was leaving the The Hill School, there were three things I wanted in a college: I wanted it to be big, I wanted it to be in the South, and I wanted it to be warm. I thank God to this day that the small school where everyone knew my name in rural Ohio that was never warm became so much more than I could haver ever wanted, but more importantly, everything that I needed. Though I struck out in many ways, I absolutely hit a home run at The College of Wooster.

Special thanks to the Wooster Baseball team for featuring my story last week as part of their Alumni Spotlight. Even though I was only able to play for two years due to injury before joining the track team, I count myself blessed for the lessons I learned, the unbelievable education I recevied, and the relationships and friendship that will last a lifetime. I owe much of what I am, what I do, and where I am today to Wooster, my collegiate athletic experience, and this small school that changed my life forever.

I am thinking of all of the amazing students that started their The College of Wooster journey a few weeks ago and wishing them the very best luck as the Black and Gold lead their way. There's no place like it in the country, and I'm just lucky I get to forever call it my home away from home. Go Scots!

Nothing beats the excitement of the opening of school! Special thanks to Jacqueline Coccia, Ed.D. Katie DeSanto, and Ashley Robinson for having me as part of the opening faculty meetings this week. I am so excited to work with Waldron Mercy Academy again this year with their theme of belonging. Can’t wait to get back on campus again already!
