Decoteau J. Irby is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He primarily teaches in the Urban Education Leadership Ed.D. program and serves as co-director of UIC’s Center for Urban Education Leadership. His research focuses on equity-focused school leadership to improve Black children’s academic achievement and socio-emotional well-being in K-12 educational settings.
