As every year, May and June are months for Master Thesis (MT) defense and thus MSc students' graduation. And, as every year, also in 2024 I had the chance to work with really, but really, great students, who have proven to be serious professionals in their MT work, as well as very nice human beings to get acquainted with. Sharing with you some topics (and work!) from my own research agenda has been an insightful experience!

Congrats to all of you, it has been my pleasure to be your supervisor and observe you taking off into the "real" business world. All the best to you all, as I am sure you will succeed in being happy and performing professionals!

Here are some details of a selection of their projects, which have in someway advanced theoretically and empirically what we all currently know about relevant domains:

Beat Moser and Lars John asked themselves about the role of AI applications in venture capital investing and related performance implications as well as patterns in investing behaviors.

Bianca Toma and Neele Wichtrup explored the relationship between the human capital of portfolio managers in philanthropic venture capital firms, syndication decisions and social enterprise performance.

Peter Østergaard Jensen took a deep dive into the world of corporate venture capital and informed about the overlooked topic of multiple CVC investors in venture's syndicate and related performance implications for innovation.

Lorenz Jadallah developed an empirical exercise to assess the question "who does finance deep-tech ventures?", exploring syndication dynamics, equity structures and performance effects of startup exit.

Federico Ceci extended the research ideas in venture capital financing in crisis time to corporate venture capital investing during Covid-19 crisis, and the implication for investing strategies and startup output.

I could not be more proud of you all! Congrats!
