Helen Wexler is a PhD candidate at Caltech with a diverse background in architecture, space technology, and sustainable materials research.1 She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel and a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Caltech.12

Currently, Helen's research focuses on developing sustainable biomaterials made from algae and agricultural waste, such as almond shells, for potential applications in construction, insulation, and packaging industries.2 This work aims to provide alternatives to petroleum-based polymeric materials and contribute to carbon reduction goals.2

Prior to her PhD studies, Helen's experience includes:

  3. Directing the Jnext Hi-Tech and Entrepreneurship Program at the Jerusalem Development Authority
