Kelly Cohen

Dr. Kelly Cohen is the Brian H. Rowe Endowed Chair in aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati and the Director of the AI Bio Lab in Digital Futures. She has been a faculty member at the University of Cincinnati since 2007 in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics.
Currently serving as the President of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS) since May 2024, Dr. Cohen has a distinguished career in aerospace engineering and education. She held the position of Interim Head of the UC/Aerospace Department from mid-2017 to December 2021 and has a secondary appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
Throughout her career, Dr. Cohen has received numerous awards and recognitions, including UC's faculty-to-faculty mentoring award, Faculty Career Award, SOCHE Excellence Award, George Barbour Award for Good Faculty-Student Relations, Faculty Core Values Award, Dolly Cohen Award for Excellence in Teaching, and several others.
Dr. Cohen's areas of expertise include Intelligent Systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, advanced air mobility, AI, fuzzy logic control, genetic fuzzy systems, computational intelligence, and structural vibration control, among others. Her current work focuses on collaborative UAV control, digital decisioning twins, AI-enabled personalized medicine, disaster management using UAVs, and more.
Education from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology includes a PhD in Aerospace Engineering, M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering, and preparatory studies in Hebrew, Mathematics, and Physics. Additional education includes Science studies at Hill Grange Junior College, Mumbai, India, and ICSE at Hill Grange High School, Mumbai, India.
Dr. Cohen has held various roles in organizations like BrandRank.AI, Genexia LLC, KAYOS Enterprise Inc., and the University of Cincinnati. She has also been involved in research, teaching, and leadership positions at institutions like the University of Bordeaux, United States Air Force Academy, and Center for Imaging Research at the College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati.
