🔬 #HRTech Research Release Announcement

I've spent the last year alongside Kyle Lagunas, studying the current state of performance management. Today, we're excited to release a white paper underwritten by Cornerstone OnDemand. We analyzed survey responses from over 250 HR leaders, uncovering their priorities, impacts, obstacles, and the factors driving their success.

Here’s the big takeaway: Despite 80% of HR leaders rating their programs as EFFECTIVE or VERY EFFECTIVE, these initiatives aren't driving meaningful improvements. They’re not boosting employee growth, productivity, retention, or enhancing employee and manager experience.

Am I surprised? Not at all.

What caught my attention is that the companies making a difference aren’t changing their performance management frequency, scope, or structure. Instead, their success boils down to three critical factors:

🧠 An Obsession with Intelligence: The standout companies aren't collecting different data but are gathering more structured, actionable, and comprehensive data, delivering more significant insights to their stakeholders.

🛠 A New Focus on Enablement: Effective companies prioritize employees and managers over executive leadership. Manager enablement and employee engagement are key focuses for this successful cohort.

🤖 An Investment in AI: There’s a clear correlation between companies leveraging AI in talent management and the success of their performance management programs. Those hesitant about AI are falling behind.

You can download our white paper from the Aptitude Research Library today. Stay tuned for our upcoming webinar, where we'll discuss these findings live!

And special thanks to Linda Breed, Carlos J Ríos, Stephanie DeMars, M.S., PHR, Minda Harts, and Rob Arbogast for their terrific insights, too!

I finished Scott Galloway's The Algebra of Wealth this weekend and am thoroughly impressed. It's a fantastic primer on financial wellness, perfect for anyone looking to enhance their understanding of money—or even for inclusion in a corporate book club.

What really resonates with me is how Galloway dives into the psychology of human behavior, using his personal financial journey as a lens to explore and demystify our relationships with money. His vulnerability and honesty are not just refreshing but also deeply educational, challenging us to break the stigma around discussing money openly.

This book is a great tool for anyone eager to grasp basic financial concepts early on. It is highly recommended and also makes a great listen on Audible.
