You hear stories about founders who have this idea and folks aren't bullish on it. And they say "but I persevered because I believed in it." Some failed - the gasoline-powered turtleneck sweater comes to mind - and others succeeded. What I can't help wonder: for those that failed, was it because the idea was poor, or just poorly communicated.
To address that, one tool I've had success with is creating a vision prototype. It's a video that's set in a near-future, with folks engaging with your service or product. Film creators do this: Her and Black Mirror serve as two memorable examples.
Tomorrow, a creator of one of those near-future prototypes while at Apple will share. It's a great chance to learn about its value and impact as you consider if that's what you need, too.
The Story of Apple's Knowledge Navigator Visiontype, with Hugh Dubberly and Audrey Crane. Friday, Mar 29th. 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT

Thank you Spotify team for your new curation experience. It lets me jump into the heart of a song. Most productive music curation experience around.
__ I don't sit down thinking I want to curate, but when I do, it's Dos Equis. Which translates to two horses to do the work of one, because curating songs before this morning made me want to spot-i-fy my app with a pen.
Look, unless you're curating songs by Led Zeppelin (and who are we kidding - you add them all), you can't get a sense in the first 10 secs. So you attempt to drag that tiny nub to somewhere else in the song, and then listen. And... then you do the same for the next song. And... the next. Oh hey, there's the moon. Hunh. And there's that dog of yours, standing over a puddle. And... your playlist only has five songs. Just the wurst.
But now, today, this morning... in any playlist I can now tap to start curating. It takes me to the heart of the song. I listen, decide, and swipe for the next song, jumping in. I can even tap on a sub-genre to pivot.
It's de-lovely.
Thank you Spotify. Now if someone can just do the same for picking movies. I'm talking to you, DisflixMax Prime+.
