Matthew Kressy

Innovative product designer and educator, dedicated to human centered design methods and business cultures that result in beautiful products, inspired leadership, and a better world.

Matthew Kressy is the Founding Director of MIT Integrated Design & Management (IDM), a program that combines industrial design, engineering design, and management. This program is a collaboration between the MIT School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management, catering to professionals in the early to mid-career stages through an innovative design studio format.

He is also the Principal of Designturn Inc., a product design firm based in Wellesley, Massachusetts, with a focus on providing complete product solutions, including volume production in Asia. Designturn Inc. emphasizes early integration of all product development disciplines, including manufacturing.

Before establishing Designturn, Matthew co-founded and managed industrial design and marketing communications at SNI Innovation, a product development and manufacturing group in Waltham, Massachusetts.

His specialties include Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Design for High Volume Production, High Volume Contract Manufacturing in Asia, Project Management, and Development Strategies.

Matthew Kressy studied BFA in Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. He has also been involved in various organizations, serving in roles such as Founding Trustee + Head of Innovation at New England Innovation Academy, Senior Lecturer at MIT, Founding Director of IDM at MIT, and Adjunct Professor at Rhode Island School of Design.
