Matt Romaine is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and advisor, with extensive expertise in global business, technology, and the arts. He co-founded and served as CTO and CEO of Gengo, a human-powered AI training data platform that enabled scalable and real-time solutions for market-leading companies such as Amazon, Google, and TripAdvisor. Matt raised over $25M from top VC firms and successfully managed the acquisition of Gengo by Lionbridge in 2019. Prior to that, he spent four years at Sony Corporation, working on multi-channel audio R&D, audio compression, and corporate technology strategy under CEO Howard Stringer. Matt's educational background includes a BA in Computer Science and Music Theory from Brown University and a Masters in "Music, Science, and Technology" from Stanford University's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA).

Matt is passionate about giving back to the startup community as an investor, mentor, and advisor. He has supported companies such as Nguyen Coffee Supply, Doorvest, Bokksu, and MaxRewards, among others. Matt is also a former Co-founder of Majides, Inc., and an intern at Microsoft, Creative Technology, Ltd., and The Motley Fool.
