Meaghan Thurston is a seasoned communications professional with over ten years of experience in higher education and the arts. She excels in storytelling and promoting research insights to the public. With a strong background in project and brand management, Meaghan has successfully led various initiatives including events, website redesigns, executive communications, crisis management, and team performance.

As a freelance writer for more than fifteen years, Meaghan has been a regular contributor to the Montreal Review of Books. She has co-edited the anthology 'With the World to Choose From: Celebrating Seven Decades of the Beatty Lecture' in collaboration with McGill-Queen's University Press. Her writing has been featured in prestigious publications such as McGill's Headway Magazine, The McGill Reporter, Kolaj Magazine, The Dominion, On Site Review, The University of Edinburgh's Arts and Culture Journal, Rover Arts, and other notable independent outlets. Additionally, she is actively involved in the Long Haul, a nonprofit artist-run organization.

Meaghan's academic background includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Cultural Studies from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Religious Studies from McGill University. Throughout her career, she has held various roles in communications and marketing in renowned institutions like McGill University, including Director, Associate Director, Senior Communications Officer, and Communications Officer.

Furthermore, Meaghan has contributed her expertise to diverse organizations and projects, ranging from educational institutions to artist-run initiatives. Her multifaceted experience includes positions such as a Freelance Writer, Guest Lecturer, Workshop Facilitator, and Programs Officer at organizations like McGill University, Miss Edgar's and Miss Cramp's School, Galerie Maison Kasini, CEGEP John Abbot College, La Fondation de la Tolérance, Head and Hands, and Adsum House for Women and Children. She has also interned at the Canadian International Development Agency, gaining valuable experience in gender and agriculture initiatives.
