A big shout-out to both CHS and David Harrison for their expertise and customer service to help bring my perfume blending brand Elix to life. Despite being a start-up, I was treated with the same respect and excellence as though I were their usual big brand client. The brief to each was demanding, and my relatively meager budget needed to offer flexibility. Every step of the way both offered me solutions to maximise my budget without compromising my brand's look and feel. Most importantly they were always a delight to work with! Thank you both for your support and encouragement - I look forward to working with you again.
When something grips you so passionately you realise the cost of regret is greater than the risk of giving up your past career (taking no salary, starting again with no idea how it will unfold), you have to do something about it! It is with excitement and some trepidation that I launch my new start up perfume blending brand www.elixfragrance.com. I adhered to all the 'rules about innovation' that I spent a long career advocating: look to the trends, engageat an emotional level, do something different, be authentic, create a minimal viable product to test, learn and refine ..... be brave, be patient.
This is a true start up, I have relied on the support of friends and family and a handful of business's that recognised my passion and who treated me as though I was a much more valuable client than I was in reality! To all my past colleagues and clients, I still love a creative workshop; whilst I am pretty busy right now, I never say 'no' to a challenge! For anyone out there who thinks some creative perfume blending, might be a fun 'experience' for a corporate event or team building exercise I am very much open for business. And finally, a big shout out to all those start-ups - I now know how you feel!
