It was so fun presenting Roots Studio's story at the Global Exploration Summit amongst astronauts, aquanauts, and other innovators. Also, a mildly poetic moment from the week: When I arrived at the airport for my departure to Portugal, I realized I forgot my travel bag with my glasses and contacts. I had in my eyes my last pair (-9.00), and without them everything is blurry. I was told someone was flying from New York the next day, so my bag was sent with them.
Funny enough, the person who delivered my bag to Portugal was Mike Massimino, the astronaut who flew to space to repair the broken lens on the Hubble Telescope. Thanks to his record-breaking space walk, we now can see nebulas, galaxies, and the greater universe. Thank you also for bringing my glasses and lenses so I could effectively share Roots Studio's story; and showcase the unexpected wonder that happens when we bridge unseen creatives to the rest of the world to see.

What a week it’s been being on the Jury for the Cartier Women's Initiative. The parallel I see between luxury jewelry and entrepreneurship is this: Diamonds are formed from the earth’s most intense pressure and temperature. But their formation is hidden, miles beneath the surface.
