Rod Hochman, M.D., is the esteemed President and CEO of Providence St. Joseph Health, a prominent Catholic not-for-profit health system operating in the Western U.S. for over 165 years, encompassing 51 hospitals, nearly 1,000 clinics, and numerous programs and services across multiple states.

Under his visionary leadership, Providence St. Joseph Health is spearheading the transformation of healthcare through digital innovation, population health initiatives, mental health advocacy, genomics research, comprehensive whole person care, and dedicated outreach to underserved communities and vulnerable populations.

Rod Hochman holds influential roles in various healthcare organizations; he is currently the Chair of the American Hospital Association (AHA) and has formerly chaired both the AHA's Regional Policy Board 9 and the board of trustees for the Catholic Health Association.

Recognized for his outstanding leadership, Rod received the prestigious Gail L. Warden Leadership Excellence Award in 2019 from the National Center on Healthcare Leadership and has been acknowledged in Modern Healthcare's rankings, including being named one of the 12 disruptors in healthcare and securing a high position in the list of most influential individuals.

Dr. Hochman's dedication to advancing healthcare is evident through his accolades, such as being named the Innovator of the Year by Press Ganey in 2015 and receiving the Partners in Care Foundation Vision and Excellence in Health Care Leadership Award in 2017.

Beyond his professional commitments, Rod is actively engaged in global health initiatives through Providence Health International, fostering relationships in Guatemala to enhance the well-being of local communities sustainably.

His academic background is equally illustrious, having completed clinical fellowships in Rheumatology at Dartmouth Medical School and in Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Rod Hochman holds Fellowship status in the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology, with academic credentials that include a bachelor's degree and medical degree from Boston University.
