Sean Yixiang Wang is an economist at the U.S. Census Bureau who previously worked as a full-time research assistant studying behavioral economics and household finance at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) for two years before pursuing his graduate studies.12

Wang received his Ph.D. in Economics from MIT in 2022 and his B.A. in Economics and Physics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014.1 His research interests primarily focus on the determinants of workers' wages, including employer wage-setting policies, how workers navigate the labor market, and the supply of human capital by schools and employers.2

Currently, Wang works at the U.S. Census Bureau's Center for Economic Studies, where he conducts research in labor, personnel, and organizational economics using administrative data on firms and workers.1 He was born in China and immigrated to the United States at the age of 10.2
