We are delighted to share the success of the 3rd Workshop on the security implications of Deepfakes and Cheapfakes (WDC '24) at the AsiaCCS 2024 conference in Singapore! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the third iteration of WDC a remarkable event. Our workshop featured engaging discussions, cutting-edge research, and incredible insights from our keynote speakers and presenters.

Key Highlights:

Keynote I: Dr. Qing Guo from Centre for Frontier AI Research (CFAR), A*STAR, Singapore, presented "FakeAmplifier: Using Adversarial Attacks to Enhance DeepFake’s Visual and Social Influence," shedding light on innovative approaches to boosting the impact of deepfakes such as leveraging adversarial attacks to evade DeepFake detections, bypass safety filters, and embed sensitive social attributes, thereby revealing the potential to amplify DeepFake’s negative visual and social impact.

Keynote II: Prof. Chei Sian Lee from Nanyang Technological University Singapore delivered an enlightening talk on "User Literacy about Deepfake Technology," emphasising the importance of educating users about deepfake technology and its implications.

Research Paper Presentations: We had two insightful sessions covering a range of topics, from deepfakes and disinformation to deception. The presentations sparked valuable discussions and opened up new avenues for research in these critical areas.

The energy and enthusiasm of all participants were truly inspiring, and the exchange of ideas will undoubtedly drive future advancements in cybersecurity and deepfake research. We are grateful for your participation and support.

Check out some moments from the workshop below!

We look forward to seeing you all at future WDC events. Stay tuned for more updates!
