Highlights
Since 1910, the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) has been investing in the social fabric of the Vancouver community, hosting millions of guests for shows, exhibits, sporting events, amusement rides, concerts, cultural activities and, of course, the annual summer Fair. I have fond memories of celebrating several birthdays at the PNE throughout my childhood, where I would architect the perfect birthday cake... a tower of cotton candy 🎂
Last week I led the first of four Lunch and Learn workshops for PNE employees on the topics of wellbeing and stress management. What a pleasure to work with such an iconic brand. Even my 100-year-old grandma was excited about this one!
This week I had the honour of participating as a speaker and meditation guide for the Government of Canada's Opening the Door to Mental Health Symposium, a two day event sponsored by the British Columbia Federal Council (BCFC) and organized by the BCFC’s Community of Interest on Mental Health.
The theme for this year's symposium was “Nurturing Humanity in the Workplace: Fostering a Culture of Kindness, Respect and Empathy.” After nearly a decade of experience in the corporate world, and now working as an Associate Clinical Counsellor, Executive Coach, Meditation Guide, and Workshop Facilitator, this theme is close to my heart.
It was a joy to participate in a fireside chat discussing accessible wellness with my close friend, Holistic Nutritionist, and Movement Guide Trilby Goouch, and to lead a grounding meditation to close out each day of the symposium, partnering with Shamanic Gong Master Paul Bissonnette. Thank you to Carole Eros for the opportunity to share what I'm most passionate about - mental health, wellness, mindfulness, and honouring the complexities of the human experience ✨
