Toby Darbyshire is a seasoned professional at the intersection of Sustainability & Consumer with a background in Bain, having successfully founded and led multiple venture capital-backed businesses.

Toby has extensive experience in building businesses from concept to scaling, having led a company to a significant size of 250 employees and revenue in the eight figures, with one successful exit and two businesses currently experiencing robust growth.

Currently, Toby is actively involved in angel investing and mentoring budding entrepreneurs through Carbon13 and Seedcamp, while also supporting the team at Supercritical post their successful Series A funding round.

Furthermore, Toby holds a non-executive co-founder position at Lumo, contributing to the development of a virtual battery farm for the future.

Educationally, Toby Darbyshire pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in History from the University of Cambridge.

His professional journey includes roles such as Chief Operations Officer at Supercritical, Mentor at Seedcamp, and involvement as an Angel in various capacities.

Toby has also served in leadership positions like Entrepreneur in Residence at Carbon13, Board Advisor at Net Zero Company, and Interim COO at VOYLOK.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found and lead companies like Heist, Engensa (which was later acquired), and Hanergy Mobile Energy Holding Group, showcasing his deep expertise in the business world.

Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, Toby Darbyshire gained valuable consulting experience at Bain & Company, where he held positions from Associate Consultant to Consultant.
